MENTORED COACH | $40/per ride
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide your head coaches and ride group support throughout each and every ride. Help with the demonstration of mountain biking skills when necessary and help keep everyone in your group accounted for. Ensure an enjoyable experience for the kids riders!
Mentored Coaches are expected to be organized, accountable, and be committed to attending their full session they are assigned unless they have arranged a Sub Coach with Program Director in advance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Reliable, on time and responsive to Program Director
- Good mountain biking abilities
- Enjoys working with kids and can create a fun environment
- Experience with teaching/instruction
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good emailing and SMS (texting) skills
- Ability to handle stressful/difficult situations
- Positive leadership experience
- General knowledge of bike maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help teach a group of 10 kids how to mountain bike with the help of 2-3 other coaches
- Create a safe and fun environment for riders
- Be 15-20 minutes early to every ride drop-off to allow parents to drop off their kids early
- Provide straightforward instruction when demonstrating mountain biking skills and technique
- Provide assistance to head coaches with any first aid/emergency situations and help communicate with the emergency contacts for the injured/distressed rider
- Help account for every rider in the ride group at the beginning, middle, and end of each ride
- Communicate with head and assistant coaches via SMS or email
MANDATORY TRAINING DATES:
If you are in town, you must attend this event. Bring your bike, helmet and water. Come hungry!
- 1.5 hours - "On-The-Bike" skills training & classroom style discussion with Program Directors Chandler Lake & Lindsey Wing
- 30 minutes - Dinner and chat
