ASSISTANT COACH

$14 PER HOUR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide your head coaches and ride group support throughout each and every ride. Help with the demonstration of mountain biking skills when necessary and help keep everyone in your group accounted for. Ensure an enjoyable experience for the kid riders!

Assistant coaches are reliable, accountable team members who commit to attending the full sessions they are scheduled for. If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please notify the Program Director at least 24 hours in advance so a qualified substitute can be arranged.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Reliable and responsive to the Program Director.
• Good history with being on time.
• Strong mountain biking abilities.
• Experience with teaching/instruction.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Good emailing and SMS (texting) skills.
• Ability to handle stressful/difficult situations.
• No previous leadership experience necessary.
• General knowledge of bike maintenance.
  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Help coach a group of up to 12 kids, for up to 3 hours, working alongside a team of 2-3 other coaches.

Be 15-20 minutes early to every ride drop-off to allow parents to drop off their kids early.

Help the head coach provide instruction when demonstrating mountain biking skills and technique.

Create a safe and fun environment for riders.

Notify the head coach immediately of any first aid/emergency situations and help the group to remain calm.

Account for every rider in the ride group at the beginning, middle, and end of each ride.

Communicate with head coaches via SMS or email.
