$45 - $70 PER RIDE
ENGAGEMENT OVERVIEW:
Lead the ride group accepted under your Position Bundle and hold primary responsibility for coaching them on the bike. Provide regular progress updates to parents on the cadence and method of your choice, including ride locations for each session. Deliver an enjoyable, well-paced experience for the youth riders in your group.
Head coaches are professional, accountable contractors who fulfill the sessions they have accepted. If a head coach is unable to perform a session they have accepted, they may arrange a qualified substitute from the Eligible Substitute Roster and notify the Company at least 24 hours in advance where reasonably practicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Communicates effectively with the Company's logistics contact for scheduling and safety coordination.
Track record of reliable, on-time service delivery.
Strong mountain biking abilities.
Experience with teaching/instruction.
Good verbal communication skills.
Good emailing and SMS (texting) skills.
Ability to handle stressful/difficult situations.
Positive leadership experience.
General knowledge of bike maintenance.
BLS (CPR & First Aid) or BikeMed Certification.
TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT SCOPE
Lead-coach a ride group of up to 12 youth participants for sessions of approximately 2.5 hours, coordinating with 2–3 other coaches engaged on the same Position Bundle.
Plan your arrival so that you are present and ready to receive participants at the published session start time, accommodating parents who may drop off shortly before that time.
Provide regular progress communications to parents (frequency, channel, and format at the coach's discretion) covering ride locations, skills covered, and any schedule changes.
Deliver clear instruction in your own coaching style when demonstrating mountain biking skills and technique.
Foster a safe and engaging environment for riders.
Apply your BLS or BikeMed training to first-aid situations and communicate directly with emergency contacts for any injured or distressed rider.
Maintain continuous accountability for all participants in your ride group throughout each session.
Coordinate with the assistant coaches engaged on the same Position Bundle as needed for safe session execution.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR DISCLOSURE
Coaches engaged by Wasatch Mountain Riders, LLC are independent contractors, not employees.
Engaged coaches:
Accept or decline session offers at their sole discretion.
Set their own coaching methodology, lesson plans, and instructional style.
Supply their own bicycles, tools, and transportation.
Are free to provide services to other camps, leagues, schools, and private clients, including during the Wasatch Mountain Riders season.
Are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and certifications.
Are paid per session on a 1099 basis.
